How to setup MailChimp Integration

Installation – Inbound Pro Plugin users

If you are an inbound now subscriber then you then you can install the MailChimp Extension by navigating to:

wp-admin->Inbound Now->Extensions

and then press the blue power button to turn it on. From there you can setup MailChimp from within the Inbound Now settings area where setup instructions are provided:

wp-admin->Inbound Now->Settings->Extension Settings

Installation – Non Inbound Pro users

Step 1. Get your files ready!

Download the extension files from your Inbound Now Account area.

Step 2. Install files into WordPress

Install the extension into your WordPress like any other WordPress plugin.

Step 3. Access your WordPress Administration Dashboard

Navigate to the ‘Global Settings’ of the Inbound Now plugin you are wanting to extend and find the ‘Extensions’ tab.

Step 4. Populate your credentials.

Our MailChimp extension requires 1 setting to be populated:

  1. MailChimp API Key

Add them to your settings and save.

Workflow Setup

 

Step 1. Connect Form

 

After saving your api keys access wp-admin->The Inbound Now Plugin You Are Extending->Create Forms and open/edit the Inbound Form you would like to integrate MailChimp with.

Click the checkbox to enable MailChimp integration for this form and then select which list your would like form submissions to be sent towards.

Step 2. Map Your Fields!

When creating our Inbound Form Fields we need to make sure they are mapped to the correct field type so our extension knows what they are and can tell that the first name field represents the leads’ first name, and last name is set correctly to the last name field map.

 

Debugging

Leads not appearing in Mailchimp

  • This can happen because API information is incorrect or because Double Optin is enabled and your leads are not confirming their subscription by email.
  • It could also be that you are not mapping your form fields.
  • It also could be possible that the list you are sending information to has custom merge fields created and set to required, causing your Inbound Form’s data replay to be rejected because does not contain the custom field. Check your merge fields inside of MailChimp to make sure this is not the case.
